The main objective of the society is to bring all interested people to disseminate the knowledge on biomechanics amongst the scholars, teachers, and scientific community in different parts of India.
The subject is gaining ground in different Engineering Colleges all over the country and those offering Biomedical Engineering compulsorily will have Biomechanics as one of the subject or discipline. Even in physical education, the Sports Authority of India and the Indian Orthopedics Society are actively working in this area. Indian Society of Biomechanics organizes conference every two years at different universities, IIT’s, and Central Research Institutes. It is attended and addressed by the international experts from different countries. The society has been publishing its conference proceedings ever since its commencement. The Society is listed in the activities of the World Congress of Biomechanics.
