Audio Section
Have you ever wondered how it would be to sit in a closed room without any sound to hear, any music to feel… you would go completely mad, wouldn’t you? Well to save the IITians from this madness the Cultural Council of IIT Roorkee, setup the AUDIO SECTION. It is the section which manages all types of sounds in the IITR campus, let it be soft and soothing tunes of the Classical night or the hard-hitting head banging songs of the Rock Show, Audio takes care of all.
Audio Section with an efficient team from all the years, provide the acoustics for events all around the year like Pehla Nasha, Swaranjali, Rock Show, etc. Loaded with state-of-the-art Aural and Mega Speakers the main attraction of the Audio Section is its known DJ nights, which are recognized as the best DJ nights of the campus, even better than the one those organized during Thomso.
But along with the core work of the section, Audio section has been evolving regularly and the latest feather in its already illustrious cap is its very own Online radio - CampusBeats @ 192.168.124.246 (internal only) which is first of its kind in all IITs, which is a step forward in the ultimate of bringing the campus its very own ON AIR radio. CampusBeats provides the students with an Online Radio where they listen to scheduled programs and all sorts of music. It provides info-tairment to the campus thus it has all featured programmes like TOP20 of d week, Club Beats, Campus Tadka, Just 4 U, Celeb Chat, Rock Opera and a lot more
Audio Section under the able leadership of Prof. S.S. Srivastava and Prof. M.J. Nigam has developed into a full fledged family were the students have a healthy interaction with their peers and get to learn many different things about mixing various kinds of sounds, connecting and assembling 20,000 watts of power (read speakers) and understanding the basics of teamwork and how to organize an event which helps them later on in their practical lives.
Lastly, Audio Section is dedicated to provide the students of this IIT campus with magic of sound and the fun of mixing them and will always strive to give them the best output possible for years and years to come.
