IIT Roorkee is perhaps the only IIT that boasts of both grass and synthetic courts. The world class synthetic courts were built in the year 2005 and are the best you can find anywhere in the world. The courts are floodlit so that the students can practice even in the evenings. The institute team has also improved its performance by leaps and bounds and reached the semi finals in the Inter IIT sports meet in 2006 and is a medal prospect next year.
